How do I rearrange pages in a PDF?

Upload a PDF and wait for its page thumbnails to appear. Drag any page by its handle and drop it in a new position. You can also focus the handle and use the keyboard or choose the arrow buttons below a thumbnail for precise one-step moves.

Can I remove pages while reordering the PDF?

Yes. Choose the exclude button on any thumbnail. An excluded page becomes darkened and receives a clear label, but stays in the page grid so you can restore it before downloading. Use Include All to restore every excluded page at once.

How can I tell which pages will be downloaded?

The action bar displays the included page count at all times. Thumbnails remain in their output order, while excluded pages are visibly muted. The download button is disabled if every page is excluded, preventing an empty PDF by mistake.

Are page links, forms, and image quality preserved?

The output copies the selected source pages with @cantoo/pdf-lib; it does not recreate them from the thumbnails. Page dimensions, vector content, text, and embedded images therefore retain their original PDF quality. Some document-level features that depend on the original page order may vary between PDFs.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Thumbnail rendering and PDF rebuilding happen on your device. This makes the tool suitable for contracts, invoices, statements, portfolios, and other documents you do not want to send to a conversion service.

Does this work with large PDF files?

Yes, although a document with many detailed pages needs more browser memory and takes longer to render. Thumbnails are created progressively so you can see the loading status. For the smoothest drag-and-drop experience with very large files, use a current desktop browser.

Can I rearrange a password-protected PDF?

Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked before their pages can be copied. If you know the password, use the PDF Password Remover, then upload the unlocked file here. You can protect the reordered result afterward with the PDF Password Protector.

What is the difference between rearranging and splitting a PDF?
